Licensure by WREB
Requirements:
• Must pass the WREB clinical examination on or after January 1, 2005
• Must pass the California Law and Ethics written examination
• Must pass the National Board Dental Examiners Part I and II
• Must have graduated from a dental school approved by the Dental Board or ADA/CODA
• Fingerprint clearance from the DOJ and FBI
Licensure by Residency
Requirements:
• Must complete a one year general practice residency (GPR) or advanced education in general residency program (AEGD) approved by ADA/CODA
• Must pass the California Law and Ethics written examination
• Must pass the National Board Dental Examiners Part I and II
• Must have graduated from a dental school approved by the Board or ADA/CODA
• Fingerprint clearance from the DOJ and FBI
• Information that the applicant has not failed the WREB examination in the last 5 years
Licensure by Credential (LBC3)
Requirements:
• Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a U.S. State or territory
• 5,000 hours of clinical practice in the last 5-7 years OR 2-year contract to work in an underserved California clinic
• Not required to graduate from a CODA approved school
• Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI)
• Information that the applicant has not failed the WREB examination in the last 5 years
• Completion of 50 hours of continuing education including mandatory courses
